Building on the functionality of the standard Montecarlo, R1 is equipped with an ISOFIX anchoring system for the base of the seat, which combined with the child retention system, affords the seat greater stability.

Due to its ISOFIX connections, it has additional safety features over all other Group 2 & 3 car seats: The ISOFIX system anchors the seat directly to the car thereby eliminating any margin for error when installing the seat, and there's no need to strap the seat in when not in use, as it's always connected by the ISOFIX.
